Sycamore had an exciting Monday afternoon this week as a paramedic and volunteers from St John’s Ambulance came in to teach them how to perform CPR. They discussed the importance of knowing which number to call in an emergency and that they must always keep themselves safe in any situation, before helping others. The children learnt how to put someone in the recovery position and ensure their airways remain open. They then learnt how to do chest compressions – accompanied by some lovely singing of either ‘Nelly the Elephant’, ‘Uptown Funk’ or ‘Stayin’ Alive’! This was a great experience for the children to begin to learn a really important life-skill.<\/p>\n

A huge thank you to the British Heart Foundation for including us in their campaign ‘Restart a Heart’ and coming in to teach us!<\/p>\n
