On Friday, the children of East Hoathly got involved with activities that had been inspired by the school\u2019s vision song.<\/p>\n

In the morning, Reception and Year 1 and 2 took part in three different activities with themes of resilience, working together and creativity.<\/p>\n

For the resilience activity, children had to use marshmallows and spaghetti to build a bridge for the naughty bus to cross over. It was\u00a0 a challenge as the spaghetti kept\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 breaking! Samuel in Year 2 said \u201cThe marshmallows are really sticky and it keeps sticking to the bus.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the creativity session, the children were making collages using the letters from \u2018creativity\u2019. The children uses felt, tissue paper and foil to decorate the letters and show different textures. Lily in Reception said \u201cIt\u2019s fun to stick things down!\u201d<\/p>\n

There were a range of games in the \u2018Working Together\u2019 themed activity. The children had to stand in a circle and hold hands to pass a hoop around them. The challenge was to not let go of one another\u2019s hand. Freddy in Reception said \u201cPlaying the games was fun, I did really well!\u201d<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, KS2 took part in activities too. Their activities\u2019 themes were \u201cworking together\u201d and \u201crespect\u201d.<\/p>\n

The KS2 children taking part in the \u2018Respect\u2019 session\u2019 created a class poem and had fun working in groups to act out each line of their poem. Summer in Year 5 said \u201cYou have to treat others how you would like to be treated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rest of the KS2 children worked together to try and fit everybody into hoops and not fall out of them. Daisy in Year 3 said \u201cWorking together is fun!\u201d<\/p>\n
