This week, the children have been looking into the School Vision and what East Hoathly\u2019s different values are. Each value has a bible story link. Each class had a value to focus on and create work for.<\/p>\n

Reception focused on RESPECT<\/b>. The children discussed what it meant to show respect to others; by being kind and listening. The children then acted out the \u2018Good Samaritan<\/b>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Year 1 and 2\u2019s value to focus on was ENJOYMENT<\/b>, which linked to the \u2018Story of Noah<\/b>\u2019. The children discussed how the value of enjoyment was present in the story. Stan said \u201cNoah had enjoyment because he survived the flood.\u201d\u00a0 The children created collages of the animals that went onto Noah\u2019s Arc.<\/p>\n

Year 3 and 4 looked into the value of WORKING TOGETHER <\/b>by reading the story of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jesus and his disciples going fishing. Abbie in Year 4 said \u201cWe acted the story out and we showed working together by helping to get the nets back to shore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Year 5 and 6 found the values of EXCELLENCE<\/b> and RESILIENCE <\/b>in two stories.<\/p>\n

In the \u2018Parable of the Two Builders<\/b>\u2019, Ethan in Year 6 found the value of EXCELLENCE<\/b>, which Teddy in Year 6 describes as \u201clistening to God\u2019s word\u201d. Ethan\u2019s character in the scene was the builder who\u2019s house fell down during the storm. \u201cMy house fell down\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 because I didn\u2019t listen to God\u2019s word or his advice.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the story of \u2018Rebuilding Jerusalem<\/b>\u2019, George in Year 6 was able to see the value of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 RESILIENCE<\/b>. \u201cWe acted out the story of Jerusalem\u2019s wall and I was Nehemiah. We had to build a wall, which was really hard because there were people trying to stop us and the wall kept falling down. We kept going until it was built but it took a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The RE Council also worked together to find the value of CREATIVITY <\/b>in the \u2018Story of Creation<\/b>\u2019. Archie in Year 6 said \u201cGod showed creativity by perfectly creating the world we live in.\u201d<\/p>\n
