This is not the same for every child. Individual children have different needs and require different approaches, strategies and sometimes resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We celebrate the diversity of our school community as we all learn with and from each other.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We work hard to provide a broad and balanced curriculum providing relevant and challenging learning for all children and to ensure they are equipped with the tools to become independent, inquisitive learners both in and out of the classroom and leave us ready to <em>make their mark on the world<\/em>.\u00a0 It is our intention to continue to develop our teaching practice, ensuring that values of equality and inclusion are at the heart of all we do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of our high quality planning, teaching and provision we strive to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure early identification and intervention for SEND to ensure that progress and opportunities are maximized. We know that the earlier we identify SEND and provide support, the more successful our children will be.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum through planning which is differentiated and provides for the small steps approach that means all children experience success.<\/li>\n<li>Provide an accessible learning environment which meets the needs of all our pupils.<\/li>\n<li>Develop children\u2019s independence, life skills and a love of learning, whilst encouraging them to \u2018<em>be the best they can be\u2019 <\/em>and<em> \u2018live life in all its fullness\u2019<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Regularly monitor the progress of all children.<\/li>\n<li>Provide good quality and relevant training for all staff members supporting children with SEND.<\/li>\n<li>Always involve parents and children in key decisions, as well as planning and reviewing progress. We know that parents are the first educators of their children and that we need their knowledge and co-operation to plan effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with external agencies and other professionals to develop our provision for children with SEND. We are committed to providing expert support and resources for children with SEND.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The vision for Framfield Church of England Primary School is that all pupils can \u2018be the best they can be\u2019 and \u2018live life in all its fullness\u2019 and this radiates through our policy for children with special educational needs and disabilities.<br \/>The Children and Families Act 2014 says that all maintained schools must publish a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Information Report every year. This can be found below.<\/p>\n<p>In the report, we explain how we meet our duties towards pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. This report is also the information we provide to the East Sussex local offer which shows the support that is available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in East Sussex: localoffer.eastsussex.gov.uk<\/p>\n<p>The federation schools are mainstream primaries admitting pupils from age 4 -11. East Hoathly also has a Nursery. We are inclusive schools \u2013 that means we provide for children with all types of special educational need. Within the Pioneer Federation, it is fully recognised that all class teachers are the teachers of children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities (SEND).<\/p>\n<p>The kinds of SEND that are provided for are categorised into four broad areas of need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>communication and interaction, including speech and language difficulties and autism<\/li>\n<li>cognition and learning, including developmental delay, and specific difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia<\/li>\n<li>social, emotional and mental health difficulties including difficulties with behaviour, attention deficit disorder ADD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ADHD, attachment disorder or anxiety<\/li>\n<li>sensory and\/or physical needs including visual or hearing impairment, dyspraxia, cerebral palsy and other physical or medical conditions which affect a child\u2019s learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report below includes details of the processes in place to identify children with SEND and for assessing their needs and required provision.<\/p>\n<h2>Useful Downloads<\/h2>\n<p>\n<!-- Generated using Document Gallery.
