The children talked about the signs of spring which they could spot. Daffodils are growing and the new growth of plants is starting. They independently planted some daffodil bulbs for next year’s spring along the edge of the forest school area.<\/p>\n

The class learned a song and joined in with actions;<\/p>\n

\u2018Spring is here\u2019 said the bumblebee,
\nhow do you know?\u2019 said the old oak tree,
\nBecause I saw a daffodil,
\nDancing with the fairies on the windy hill\u2019.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The children had a go at making some bird feeders of their own.<\/p>\n

The Impact of Forest School for the children is the knowledge the children gain from the Forest School experience. The impact can be seen through the skills gained, tools used, art and craft activities, observations and knowledge of the fruit, plants trees in relation to the seasons and the skills involved in learning how to play Forest School games.<\/p>\n

The rest of the afternoon saw Maples following their own ideas.<\/p>\n

There was lots of independent creating with sticks, to make signs, decorations and boats, which they tested on the pond.<\/p>\n

Maples really enjoyed their den building and used secateurs independently to continue to cut back brambles from their den area.<\/p>\n

They thoroughly enjoyed digging today, creating a huge hole and filling buckets with clay, which we can use during future sessions.<\/p>\n

There was also lots of climbing and swinging and running around!<\/p>\n

It is great to see the confidence in self-chosen activities at Forest School developing in all of the children.<\/p>\n
