All children in Lilac class have been trained to become Play Leaders. They are responsible for organising and setting up playground games and activities in a safe manner at lunchtimes, under the guidance of Mrs Neville and Mr D. There are currently 10 Play Leaders who are paired up and deliver one lunchtime session each per week. They are then rotated on a termly basis. Play Leaders are not only role models and ambassadors but must also demonstrate the ‘6 steps to success’ – Organisation, Responsibility, Communication, Co-Operation, Safety and enjoyment before they become accredited. They use all of these skills to support and encourage fellow pupils to join in games, make new friends and enjoy their lunchtime experience.
