We started the day with an assembly looking at the structure of Parliament and how it began. Then, throughout the day, each class took part in an activity. Maple Class looked at the importance of being able to vote, whilst the other classes each had a debate about a topic they decided on. It was great to see the children be so enthusiastic and have more of an understanding about how their country is run.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I enjoyed learning about the parties and then splitting between Labour and Conservative for our election!\u2019 &#8211; Francesca, Year 6<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Parliament is made of two houses &#8211; the House of Commons and the House of Lords!\u2019- Max, Year 1<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It was really fun to debate and vote for who our teacher should be!\u2019 &#8211; Freddie, Year 2<\/p>\n<h2>Impact &amp; Knowledge Gained<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"impact\">All children now have a greater understanding of how laws are created and the structure of Parliament. They were able to link the British Values to the topics they debated and can now understand why a democratic Parliament is important.
