NATURE – Has forest school affected how you feel about nature \u2013 if so how?<\/p>\n
\u201cForest school makes you notice nature more\u2026we feel more confident and comfortable in nature\u2026It has made me be in nature more and learn about more animals<\/em><\/p>\n \u2026we like nature already, so it is great to do Forest School\u2026it is relaxing and peaceful in nature\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n LEARNING \u2013 What skills did you learn or develop this year at Forest School?<\/p>\n \u201cHow to put up a hammock\u2026how to make a make shift stretcher for first aid\u2026<\/em>Learning<\/em> to make stretchers\u2026fire lighting\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The Impact of Forest School for the children is the knowledge the children have gained from the Forest School experience.<\/p>\n The impact can be seen through the skills, tools used, art and craft activities, observations and knowledge of the fruit, plants trees in relation to the seasons and the skills involved in learning how to play Forest School games.<\/p>\n Some of Lilac Class built and lit a small fire as it was their last session in the woods. They independently used fire strikers and transferred their burning cotton wool onto the fire. They then wrote a wish for their future on some paper and put it on the fire. There was some torch making and then the year 6 children jumped over the fire as their final Forest School activity.<\/p>\n The rest of the class spent time on the swings, hammocks and by the stream.
