At St Mary’s School we are linked with Ecole Jeanne d’Arc in Forcalquier, France.<\/p>\n

We are very excited to be linking with Ecole Jeanne d’Arc, giving our pupils the chance to write to, learn from and communicate with pupils their age in a different part of the world. It’s such a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to use their learning in a real life scenario! So far, the pupils in Lilac Class have sent and received Christmas cards, creating ‘All About Me’ booklets to share.<\/p>\n

For Easter, Lilac decided they would like to make some Easter cards to send – some of the girls have grand plans about 3D\/pop up cards! We will expand on what our hobbies are, what we like and don’t like doing and we’ll work on giving reasons and opinions too.<\/p>\n

In the summer, we thought it might be nice to send postcards giving further information about the local area, creating posters and leaflets about our local area. Watch this space for more updates about our link and please pop in to look at our display if you would like to see what the pupils are writing to each other.<\/p>\n

“It’s really fun to use our French learning for a real reason and talk to someone from that country” – Layla, Year 6<\/p>\n

“I really enjoy learning about how their lives are the same as ours and how they are different” – Harry, Year 5<\/p>\n

“It’s cool that we are writing to and learning from real people” – Ryah, Year 5<\/p>\n

“I’m excited to learn more about where they live and see if there’s anything similar here or if it’s totally different” – Kaya, Year 6<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
