Before half term, we had a whole-school ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’. We got up to all different things and enjoyed some time slowing down, relaxing and being creative.
Oak class focused on ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind’. They discussed the importance of a good nights sleep, healthy food, lots of water and exercise to impact our wellbeing – in light of this, enjoyed some mud kitchen play, yoga, lots of listening games and each made some fruit skewers.
Willow thought about things that make us feel calm and happy. Then we spent some time looking at autumnal pictures and used these to inspire our own artwork. The children used a mixture of materials to create their art work, including watercolours, chalk, oil pastels and charcoal.
Sycamore had a fun afternoon of activities led by Miss Page. It began with a range of PSHE-style games and then the class completed autumnal collage work using natural resources. Finally, the class had free choice to present either a rap, drama, bookmark or a game about Autumn.
