For World Mental Health day, Oak class discussed the different ways we show our emotions, and the differences between our feelings. We then took a moment to calm ourselves, practicing some mindfulness and yoga. We painted some mood monsters whilst experimenting with colour mixing, and practiced our team work through some parachute games.
As part of our emotional regulation focus, the children were set out to be responsible for their emotions today, and we discussed the other responsibilities they had – (such as remembering the things they need for school, using kind hands, looking both ways when crossing the road). The children then took home a bear each and looked after it for the night.
