We are delighted to announce that Relish! will become our in-house catering provider from September 2026.

Over recent months, we have been working closely with the children to create a delicious menu that caters for all dietary requirements. The new offering will include a fresh salad bar, a choice of main meals, desserts and cheese and biscuits.

From September, lunch ordering will move to Arbor. Further information about how to order meals, along with menus, will be shared with families shortly.

At Stonegate School, together with our Governing Body, we take seriously our responsibility to provide children with nutritious, high-quality meals that they enjoy eating. We are committed to using quality ingredients and serving food on quality tableware, creating a lunchtime experience that is welcoming, enjoyable and an important part of the school day.

Children will also have opportunities to become involved in food preparation, and we look forward to incorporating some of our own seasonal produce into meals. A special thank you goes to Mrs Thomas and our Gardening Club for their hard work in helping us grow and harvest produce for the school.

Other important reasons why we chose Relish! include:

Ingredients

Relish prioritise using only locally sourced ingredients from local farms, this not only supports our local farmers but also provides us with the freshest produce whilst reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.

They also support the Marine Stewardship, using only sustainable fishing to protect our seas and oceans. All their suppliers are farm assured, providing us with only free range eggs, red tractor meats and fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

By using seasonal produce, they further minimise their carbon footprint for long-distance journeys, whilst also saving energy by reducing the need use of greenhouses!

Waste Reduction

Relish cater for accurate numbers which means our waste will already be minimal, but for any waste we do have, they promote waste saving initiatives such as our Love Food Hate Waste campaign, encouraging our schools and students to either take home any produce that would otherwise be wasted, take waste produce to local food banks, or use any waste for compost to grow their own veg, which further supports our eco-friendly ethos!

Educating the Future

One of Stonegate and Relish’s key focuses is educating students in schools on sustainable food choices, helping to create a culture of environmental responsibility around food from a young age whilst also promoting healthy eating.

Relish Vision

We are fully committed to progressing into more sustainable practices and culture, embracing change, creating a meaningful impact and creating relationships with other sustainable companies.

Our current kitchen team, Mrs Knight and Miss Ranger, have decided to start their own new adventures continuing with Chartwells. We wish them every happiness and thank them for all they have done at Stonegate during their time with us.

We are very excited about this new chapter and look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
