Oak Forest School

The children in Oak class were joined by their Year 6 buddy for their final Forest School session of this school year.

With the trolley loaded we set of to the woods. The children were asked to get into groups with 3 buddies and 3 Oak. They were challenged to work together to build a den, they were able to use tarpaulins as well as any natural materials they could find. The dens needed to be large enough to allow the whole group to fit inside, once ready water was then thrown over the den to test how waterproof it was. There were some very good designs where the children did not get wet at all, however we also ended up with a few soggy children. Many children chose to decorate a wooden disc with something that would remind them of Forest School. They then pushed some wool through a tiny hole at the top of the disc and tied it together creating a necklace. It was really nice to see the two different age groups working so well together.
