Squirrels have had a brilliant term learning about the ‘Glorious Growing’ topic. They had a fabulous day on Wednesday during their trip to the community garden and park. The children did different activities around the garden including picking fruits and vegetables that are ready, identifying different fruits and vegetables and planting seeds for different herbs. We all had a great time having a picnic and spending the afternoon at the park.
The Community Garden contacted us to say:
‘It was a pleasure to have them, they were bright, curious and a real credit to the school. Quite a few of the children have gone home to plant the ‘magic’ broad beans that they podded, in the hope of a beanstalk but the main hit was definitely the mint beetles! It’s really important to us that the garden sits at the centre of the community and meets the needs of the broad range of people within it. We’ll look forward to welcoming you back’
Squirrels have had such a fabulous year, I hope you all have a wonderful summer holidays.
