Each Pioneer school has an international school link.
We feel it is important to enrich our curriculum in this way because it ensures that pupils have access to a wide and rich set of experiences and extends the curriculum beyond the local environment therefore providing for pupils’ broader development.
Maples Zoom Call with Finland
Maples experienced a Zoom call with a group of children from ‘Kiviston’ school in Seinajoki, Finland in May.
It was a fantastic and fascinating opportunity for our Maples pupils to give and receive information from children of a similar age living miles away in a country they know very little about.
Maples asked the children lots of questions about their school culture which included finding out about their school day, their curriculum, the length of their school year and what they keep in their desks!
Maples now plan to exchange letters so they can continue to learn more about each other’s culture and develop their friendship with the ‘Kiviston’ school pupils.
