Our Spirituality Statement

That which inspires us, moves us, makes us wonder and; makes us feel loved.’

On Monday 15th September 2025, we explored the concepts of looking Up, In and Out. The children worked together in their houses with children from across the school. The focus for the day was to explore the new definition ‘That which inspires us, moves us, makes us wonder and makes us loved.’

In

We were given apples to explore. We were encouraged to ask questions, to wonder and be curious as we looked in detail at the fruit. Children used their curiosity to then create images of the fruit that reflected their ideas about the apples.

Up

The children were introduced to the new prayer garden. This is land that the children will help to nurture, by planting trees, and plants. The garden will be used as a place for reflection. To mark the opening of this space, The Bishop of Lewes, planted a tree and prayed for the opportunities we will have to use the garden to draw near to God, to be inspired, to wonder and feel moved. Rev. Julie and Matt, worked with children to create design for how the children want the garden to look. Children had great ideas including, ponds, mazes and lots of places to stop and sit.

Out

The Christian charity International Needs joined us to share with the children about children in Uganda, who have very little. The children thought about how they could look ‘out’ to support others.
