This week St Mary’s KS2 girls marked International Women’s Day with a wonderful Karate Workshop run by Ms Ambrose and friends from CMA Karate Club, Sensei Sarah and Sempai Linda. The girls worked together to learn about why this day continues to be an important day to consider areas of society where inequalities persist and learned how to work with their partners to learn key Karate moves.
The girls started to learn basics (Kihon) including 4 blocks, front kick, back fist and some pairs work! Our focus of the session was to give the girls an introduction to karate and to help them understand why respect and equality is so important in every environment.
