TCS Mini London Marathon

On Thursday 16th April, our school took part in the TCS Mini London Marathon. Children had to complete a 2 mile run.

The route was organised by Mr Sumner from Active Education, and took in exciting local trails. There were stiles to climb, as well as hills and bridges to navigate. The children were absolutely brilliant, showing so much perseverance.

We were so proud of all children who took part completing the 2 mile run. The greatest outcome was the children had fun, and experienced the joy of running! (Watch out for what Mrs Fry has planned next!)

A huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers for making this event run so smoothly. To the PTFA for providing refreshments, parents for all the cake donations and cheers for children, staff for supporting all children to complete and to Mr Sumner for all his hard work making this happen.

Crowborough Cross Country

On Wednesday 15th October a group of KS2 children represented our school at the inter school Crowborough cross country event. There were some pre-race nerves, but the children were fantastic and demonstrated such determination and focus, and all coming in brilliant places. Congratulations to Isaac for coming first in his age group and to Liv and Cece for qualifying for the next round.

Bedes’ Year 5 & 6 Football Tournaments

Over the last few weeks, we were very lucky to take two football teams to the Bedes’ Year 5 and 6 football tournaments. The boys and girls’ football teams excelled in training sessions, working on their passing, intercepting and team work skills and then showed these skills against a wide range of schools.

Our amazing boys’ team came second in the Bedes’ Plate Tournament and showcased their incredible teamwork , communication and resilience. They came away extremely proud of their performance and there was a strong sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. We had our amazing goal keeper Rory who saved some extremely challenging goals and penalties.

We also took a fantastic girls’ football team, who worked extremely hard in their training sessions and who built up lots of confidence for this event. They showed such determination, team spirit and communication skills during their matches and represented their school to such a high level. The girls should be extremely proud of their achievements and we can continue their enthusiasm for girls football in the future!

A huge congratulations to both teams!
