Lilac Term 1 Newsletter – ‘The Victorians’

Dear Parents,

I hope you have had a lovely summer holiday!

We have a very exciting year ahead in Lilac Class. Our topic for term 1 is ‘The Victorians’ and we will be using the text: Street Child by Berlie Doherty. This will include learning about Queen Victoria, school life, home life, and workhouses. Please keep your eyes peeled for information about our upcoming trip to the Weald and Downland Museum this term as part of our topic.

It is always great to have items or visitors that support our topic, so if anyone has any knowledge, or items that may help us with any of the work above that we could hear about or borrow, we would love to see and hear about them.

The way we do homework has slightly changed this year so please do read the information your children are bringing home in their homework books. Your support and encouragement at home makes a real difference!

We are really looking forward to welcoming your children back, ready to work hard and have fun this year. I hope you find the attached learning map, explaining what we will be learning about this term useful. I would like to take this opportunity to highlight that if you ever have any problems, please feel free to come and see me at any time!

Many thanks for your continued support,

Miss Banks
